EPHB1 tyrosine kinase receptors identified as tumor biomarker
Head of the research group: LÁSZLÓ BUDAY
Research concept
Signalling pathways using tyrosine kinase receptors are often deregulated in human cancer, therefore, the investigation of the aberrant components of those signalling pathway may help determine the status of the cancer and predict the outcome of the disease. Based on the literature, EphB1 is often underexpressed, while Tks4 overexpressed in certain human cancers. We are developing, optimising and validating a quantitative method for monitoring the expression of the human EphB1 and Tks4 genes in various types of normal and tumour tissues.
